Frequently asked questions.
What is Woolwax?
Woolwax is a company that specializes in manufacturing protective coatings and rust inhibitors, particularly for automotive and industrial applications. Their products often contain lanolin and are designed to protect against corrosion, moisture, and environmental elements. Woolwax is known for its effective formulations that help extend the lifespan of vehicles and equipment, especially in harsh conditions.
Why use Woolwax?
It provides a protective barrier against moisture, salt, and other corrosive elements, helping to prevent rust formation. Regular application can extend the lifespan of critical components by shielding them from environmental damage. Woolwax remains pliable, allowing it to protect moving parts without cracking or peeling. It can be sprayed onto various surfaces, making it user-friendly for both DIY enthusiasts and professionals. It helps protect against dirt, grime, and road debris, keeping the vehicle cleaner.
Why not use rubberized undercoating?
While rubberized undercoating is fine for a brand new car, once the owner begins to drive the car more, road debris begins to make nicks on the coating and cause it to flake and get damaged. Once this damage begins, this allows moisture to seep under the coating and cause the metal to rust from the inside out which will permanently damage your vehicle. Woolwax is superior because it never dries and it displaces moisture which is the main cause of rust on vehicles.
How often should i have my vehicle undercoated and how long will it take?
Not every vehicle is used the same and that plays a big factor on how often you should have your vehicle undercoated. A good rule of thumb is every two years for normal use and every year for vehicles that are used heavily and off-roaded. At the end of the day, whether you get your vehicle undercoated each or every other year will depend on what you think your vehicle needs.
Most small sedans and crossovers will take around an hour to do while larger trucks and SUVs will take anywhere between 2-3 hours. Commercial vehicles such as dump trucks can take anywhere from 2-4 hours to complete.
